Formed in Amsterdam in 1980, Minimal Compact<\/strong> were part of the original post-punk explosion \u2013 and remain one of its most distinctive voices. The band developed a unique mix of propulsive rhythms, spacious bass lines, rich keyboard textures, mesmeric guitar lines, and vocal melodies with a Middle-Eastern inflection. They sounded like nothing that had gone before.
Well-known releases include the album ‘Deadly Weapons’ (with club-hit \u2018Next One Is Real\u2019) and ‘Raging Souls’.

Pussy Riot is a protest art collective once based in Moscow, formed in 2011 with approx. 11 women, known for unauthorised provocative guerrilla punk-style performances in unusual public places, which brought 3 of them to prison camps.
Maria Alyokhina was one of them, and wrote a book about it: “Riot Days”. The book was transformed into a multi-media performance that has traveled around the world.
In her second book \u201cPolitical Girl\u201d (Penguin, November 2025), she continues the story, including the assassination of Navalny and her own spectacular escape from Russia. This book brought huge publicity, including the cover of the Sunday Times. The live performance \u201cPussy Riot: Riot Days\u201d featuring Maria Alyokhina, has been adapted to the content of the new book.
